So, hi all!

New Defender owners here and thought we'd jump into the deep end of the pool with our first purchase.

Some background info; I'm a long time enthusiast of hydrocarbon vehicles (and lifelong part of the industry on the technical side). My wife is close to being as enthusiastic, though perhaps more reluctant to pick up a wrench these days.

We enjoy our motorcycles and autos/trucks, but haven't had a boat in a few years, though wouldn't mind one again.

We've always been picky about our vehicles to the point that we've factory ordered a number over the years including 2 Jeeps (Wrangler Unlimited and Grand Cherokee), a Subaru, and a Mini Cooper S.

So it should be no surprise that the Defender was factory ordered to our specs to have a nice balance of comfort and capability.

We hope to use it on some trips to the OBX to access a friend's house in the dunes of the 4x4 only section. We normally take my Jeep Wrangler and probably still will much of the time (cause we fill it with sand day after day on the beach), but maybe we'll take hers too for runs to town and try to keep it cleaner.

I'll probably handle most/all of the maintenance so I'm hoping to learn from others here about all the many things I'm sure not to know yet.

I will say that I'm enjoying it (when she lets me drive it), and I'm quite happy to have it in the fleet.
