Hi all, my passenger side A pillar has been rattling since I bought the vehicle. Took me a while to figure out that the plastic edge of the pillar cover vibrates against the windshield.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and is there a DIY fix for it? About to go on a 3K trip and the car won't be in for service until after and I'd very much like to solve it before I go.

Worst case, I could probably wedge it with some toothpicks, but that's a pretty clumsy solution. I googled to see if there was a video on how to remove the cover, but didn't have any luck there. (also searched this forum, but didn't find any threads that looked like they describe this problem)

Use some felt, best option for rattling plastic.

Joey,

Thanks for the suggestion, a bit better than my 'toothpick' option and certainly a lot less work than trying to remove the pillar cover. I happened to have a bunch of felt lining the spare tire molded styrofoam (trying to keep it from squeaking with limited success), so I cut off a length and jimmied it between the pillar cover and the windshield. Seems like it should work, I'll post an update later to close out the thread either way.
