Looks like you’re in the right neighborhood, you’ll just have to try it and see what happens. I suggest an eBay key to start, low risk ;)

That’s the plan. I was just about to checkout with one last night but I didn’t see the hidden key part. I asked the seller if it came with the key blank and they said no. I’m hoping to find one with the key blank in it.

I don’t have cut keys in my fobs any more, and the silver covers have fallen off and been lost. Still works fine, but I keep a backup couple keys charged just in case ;)

I grabbed a couple of key blanks off Amazon, local lock smith said he can cut them. Not sure If I will be able to put it inside the remote or not until I see it.

Buy the GAP IID Tool. Depending on what quality you want, you have two options.

Buy an OEM fob, or buy one off of eBay. Then get the key cut yourself and program it yourself with the tool.

The tool isn't exactly cheap, but it is totally worth it. I use it all the time, and have used it to enable DRLs, troubleshoot a freak CEL, enable the digital speedometer, deflate the air suspension for replacing some parts, and a few other things.
Does this work with the keyless FOBS as well?

Got the new eBay Fob today and successfully programmed it with the Foxwell NT510, but in my case the Schwaben 14020SCH, its the same thing..... The set up was a little quirky towards the end, but that just might be the software, it asked to program the lock button but then asked to press unlock? Weird, but it works, tested all functions and it starts the car. I did make a Youtube video of it, decided to start a channel and give back as much as I can, I do so many random DIYs hopefully I can help others.

Glad you got the eBay fob working. Remember that if the fob battery dies, the "emergency" starting function described in the owner's manual will not work. You MUST have a good fob battery for the reprogrammed eBay key.

For the metal door key, you can buy them from the dealer pre-cut for your VIN. These are sold separately from the fob. The metal key is part number LR012408, my dealer charged $70 for it two years ago. Fit perfectly in the door tumbler. If the used eBay fob included a metal key, either mark it so you know it doesn't fit, or toss it (preferably after getting a replacement that fits your truck).
