Voyager Rack Carrier / Ski Options

My LR4 came with the Voyager Roof Rack, and I’m wondering if I could mount my Thule Roof Carrier to it? I haven’t climbed up there to see what I have to work with, but the kids started skiing yesterday, so I have to figure something out.....

Probably? Theres a few different voyager racks and a million different Thule roof carriers. I'm not sure if you're talking about a thule box or a ski carrier but I imagine there's bound to be a way. You need to just try and it and if you have specific fit issues we can probably help you out with suggestions.

Best way? Drop the center rear seat and place the skis in a good ski bag. I can fit up to my 193 powder boards straight in. With 4 of us skiing it works very well. No box on top and I can

fit in the heated underground garage at the resort. Here is a picture for a week long trip (6 pairs of skis). Any more than 4 people though you do need a box.

Ktm525, that’s how we did it the other day. That center seat folding down is an awesome function. Plus the skis keep the kids from wacking each other.... less fighting lol.

Also keeps everything secure if you stop somewhere along the way. Ski boxes are easy targets if thieves think there are 4 pairs of $1000 skis in there.

I frequently carry my Great Dane in the back on ski trips and he takes up the whole back, so roof box(Yakima SkyBox 16 Carbonite on stock rails/crossbars) is the only way to go for me. Apart from that, center fold down is a great feature in this already awesome ski vehicle.

I have seen some pictures on the internet of people running a cargo box with what looks to be the voyager rack. I sent a message to Thule to see if they had any type of adapters or cross bars that I could attach to the rack. With the wife now skiing I want to get all 4 sets of skis and poles out of the truck.

I fabricated some cross bars for the voyager rack that will allow me to mount my Thule Cargo Carrier. Going to finish them off with some powder coat tonight and mount them tomorrow. I will post back with a picture.
