That part took us a couple of days. This was mostly because you have to order the new separator plate once you take off the pan, and you don't know what model plate it is until the pan is off. Regardless, I recommend going step by step and really taking your time. The instructions supplied with the Sonnax kit are wonderful.

I planned ahead and ordered both versions of the separator plate to limit downtime. if you remove that factor from the equation..is the total time within 1 day?

ive read through the threads you posted and sonnax instructions a few times. nothing seems that difficult. Im kind of expecting 2hrs of work on the mechatronic unit once its removed.. seem right?

In that case, it can be done in one day. I would allot most of the day though, just to be safe. I'd say 4hrs on the mechatronic unit is reasonable.

Edit: I say this because there are a couple of instances(where you separate the halves of the unit, for instance) where there's a chance springs, etc can fly all over the place if you're not careful. If that happens, your day just got a lot longer.

In the middle of this and can't seem to get the valve body to drop out of the trans.

It's very loose but seems to be hung up near where the white connector is. The white connector is pulled all the way down.

Any tips?

Do I need to disconnect the harness( that the valve body plugs into) on the outside of the transmission?
If yes, how do you get to that harness?

It has been a while since I did mine, but I think you have to disconnect the connector on the outside, as well as remove the sleeve to get the mechatronic to drop. Could be wrong, but that is what I am thinking.

You can reach the connector and sleeve from the passenger side. It is a long reach, but can be done.

Got that. Figured it out a few min after I posted.

My next issue is that I removed all of the original "part #5" in the zip kit from the valve body and am not sure how far to install the new ones. I feel like I'm really hammering them in, and unsure it its correct.

Any inside if this is the correct depth? New end plug laid in place for reference of how far I'm installing then. It seems to make sense since the retaining clip fits in the groove.

Figured it all out.

Installing a new sleeve was a *****. Probably the most frustrating part.

I'm done for the day.
I'll finish tomorow reinstalling the pan and filling with fluid.
Crossing fingers that it works correctly.

I remember these going in much much tighter than what came out. Should hold pressure really well. I think you're fine. And yes, that harness had to come out. You're almost there!
