I did some experiments on my vehicle and hope that the data might help others out. I suspect that my issue was only that I had the hood open for repairs, and that won't allow the vehicle to shut down properly. I disconnected the hood sensor and shorted it out, and then measured the current flow with the car locked:
  1. 6.2A at first
  2. Dropped to .45A after a minute
  3. Dropped to .15A after another minute
  4. Dropped to .01A after 2 minutes more
I decided to measure what was happening with the car unlocked, too:
  1. 6.2A again at first
  2. 6.1A after a minute
  3. .52A after another minute
  4. Stayed at .52A for a full 10 minutes
  5. .45A after 13 minutes since the car was locked
  6. .16A 1 minute after that
  7. 0A a minute later
  8. Open door with the keys: 8.6A as mirrors flexed out, etc.
No further sign of a parasitic draw.I reconnected the hood latch sensor, but I am (hopefully) done working on it for awhile. Lesson learned.

Thanks for the detailed analysis!

I'm pretty confident my parasitic draw is due to the Naviplus CarPlay unit which activates as soon as the car is unlocked. It keeps the current draw close to 7A for a prolonged period.
