After searching this forum and finding lots of useful information, I am wondering if anyone could advise on my issue.
I have a Range Rover sport HSE 2010. While driving on a freeway from our vacation, low coolant level warning showed up and temperature went up right after. I pulled over and saw white smoke under the hood. I added coolant, test drove it, temperature went up again, lost power and car went limb. There was more smoke, coolant sprayed all over the engine. Had it towed and now, after research and taking some parts apart, I am now sure the issue is with both crossover pipes.
The issue however gets more difficult for me as it seems that those front pipe flanges melted into the engine block. I am stuck and not sure if that could have damaged the engine and what my next steps should be.

It really depends on how hot the engine got. Sadly a overheat situation in a Rover and most modern vehicles is normally a rebuild or replacement

Same car, same problem- only mine failed as I pulled into my driveway and I never got to limp mode. If the engine started and ran okay after the incident, it is likely ok to repair w/o an enginee rebuild- at least it is worth a try. My front crossover (under maniforld) had been leaking a bit for a while and the rear crossover split at a seam- my big problem. When I pulled the front crossover the ends of both sides stayed in the block. Not melted, dissolved.

I would replace both ( the other will fail eventually) and give it a shot. Cost of an engine/rebuild far exceeds the cost to this point.
