With the lawsuit settled, has anyone had experience getting Rover to cover the cost of the timing chains post 100k miles. The argument being they knew of the design flaw and recommended 15k between oil changes which would surpass reasonable standards of maintenance.
Just curious...

I did write to that firm and got the same canned response - 8 years and 100k. I did however ask them to include me in the files if they wanted to build a case for over 100k. No issues so far, but I drive a lot and I will try to put another 100k on t he clock at least! It sounds like a pretty large “preventive maintenance” item, but I did the cossover, replaced plugs and the like. Would love to hear from people that didn’t replace chains and just did the tensioners and guides - saw a youtube video and I may be up for the try!

Might be a dumb question, but does that 8 years / 100,000 miles start from the MY date or purchase date?

anybody know what dealer price is to replace?

It varies. Mine was done under my CPO warranty so my invoice doesn't list a price. It's a common enough procedure now that I bet you can call your local LR Dealer and they'd be able to tell you right on the phone.

Aristocrat in KC (Land Rover Merriam) isn't nearly that high, or at least it wasn't a few years back. Under $5k from what I heard from others who had it done there. I'm sure they'd tell you over the phone.
