Hi Guys…
I have an intermittent fault that’s driving me insane resulting in Check engine light & reduced performance indicator’.
I have an engineering background and a GAP 11D tool…
The codes I’m getting are shown in the pic.
Basically PO2EF-01 which means #2 injector circuit range/performance general electrical failure.

I keep clearing the codes and drives for a couple of days or 5-15 miles then kicks the code back again…

I’ve cleaned the connectors on the injector to no avail. It’s intermittent so any advice/previous knowledge would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks….. but is that definitely a normal fault for a dodgy injector.?
Not another electrical problem, especially as it’s intermittent.?

Although the book will say don't, I would try moving the injector to another cylinder. See if the problem follows the injector or stays with #2.

The injectors in the 5.0 are such a PITA to get to and remove that troubleshooting like that is a hefty proposition.

Yes. Could also check resistance of the injector and compare with others. A professional might use a hand held scope to observe pattern while driving.

Doesn't Land Rover have some sort of fuel injector test procedure they run? I think someone local to me had fuel injector problems and the local dealer did a cleaning procedure that cured it.

Thanks for all that…..
troubleshooting by moving it is a MAJOR PITA…. Fortunately it’s the easiest one to get to. Probably easiest just to buy a genuine Bosch one $68….ish. Rather than swapping them around.
I’m just concerned as it states an electrical failure rather than mechanical.?
And during a #live value# injector test using GAP tool all the values were similar as if the injector was working ok…

According to this, the P0200 fault could be a faulty fuel injector, and not just wiring.

Easy fix may be to run a bottle of BG44k through a half tank of gas and see if that does anything. Land Rover actually recommends using the stuff.

I’ve actually run 2 bottles of BG44K through it in the last 3,000 miles and when it started to play up added sea foam as well a few days ago….

Looks like I’ll swap out the injector, fortunately not too expensive.
