Would appreciate your thoughts on this noise.

Just purchased this vehicle trough an auction with plans to use it as a weekend cruiser it has 300,000km on it. The Carfax which does not list chains as having been replaced in the service history. I listened to lots a online video 5 liters with failing chains and to me this sounds different to me. I also used the long screw driver stethoscope imitation method on the chain covers and although I can hear the chain clearly i don't hear the pronounced knocking that can be heard in the video. Additionally from the front of vehicle j can hardly hear an noise with the hood closed - the noise is most noticable right by the driver door.

Sounds normal to me too...mine? 2012LR4 hse 103k mi...

My LR4 with 139k mi (~224k km) just after oil service, sounds almost the same.
Recorded after 2-3 mins after cold start at temperature 0°C (32°F):

In local service said its normal working sound but I ask some owners who change chain and they said that its not good (but not so bad) chain noise, here's example how its work after chain replacement:
Now that's a great test...will try it... TY...

Injectors noise listen from right (passenger) side and its very fast but from left (driver) side you can listen slowly tic-tic-tic – that's sounds like chain I think.
Also I got good tip to check chain – need to press chain under oil cup and it must be tight and not have free movement on cold engine. I'll try it soon and rec video.

p.s. yeah coin test looks very good for checking engine balance)) better working on V6 I think because V8 very balanced and stable
p.p.s. on video sounds very loud. In real it's much lite and not so scary as on video

That does sounds like an exact match to my engine sound. Have you replaced the chain quides on yours yet?
I just bought my LR4 too and have same Carfax report – no chain replace so I don't know actually its replaced or not

@Localschauss: That last video you posted still reminds me of a manifold leak. We’ve had some reports of the bolts shearing off on the v6’s - not sure about the v8’s. Look up some videos for manifold leak ticking noises and see what you think. Here’s one, but it’s from a Ford F-150, so maybe not a great comparison:

What you folks are saying makes sense. If only it the manifolds weren't so bloody buried and hard to access. Any advice on the what method to dig down there to check for a leak?

I haven’t accessed it yet myself, but asked another member about it and it’s not easy to get to. You can see the reponse I got here (check post #11): https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/maf-sensor-and-o2-sensor-bad.42734/page-2#post-225187.

Maybe just start with removing the wheel well liner and see if you have enough space to get an instrument back there to listen, or get a borescope into it to see. I have one of the cheap stethoscopes (like $10-20 on amazon) with a hollow tube and cone at the end, which might work to listen back there without actually touching anything (listen for the puffing air of a leak). Or, look up under the engine from behind that drivers front wheel and see if there is enough space to shove a stethoscope up from underneath.
