My guess, and only a guess, its that they now have more data points to validate the lower viscocity and figured out that it will work. Higher centistokes would hold more pressure, and maybe the ability for the case to properly work could be impaired? And that transfer case never operates at 100C, but probably the cooler temps where the different in resistance is higher for RedLine.

Its been a long time since I worked in tribology stuff, but I did teach fluid dynamics in grad school before wikipedia existed to give us bad info

Anyone exceptionally handy with LR p/ns? I'm trying to make sure I order the front and rear diff drain plugs correctly the first time. When I plug in my VIN on the dealer sites, they spit out TYB500060 for the diff plug. Other vendors have totally different numbers such as TYB500110 or TYB500080.
Neither of those show as fitting my truck so just curious if anyone knows what worked on their 5.0 with HD. thanks.

Last spring I ordered 2 of IYB500020 and 1 of TYB500110G. This is for my 2012. Those are Atlantic British's part numbers. Not sure if they are the same as Land Rover's.

This post is of no help because I have not done the job yet since receiving those, but having done the job about 50k miles ago they certainly look like the right plugs.
