catalytic converters replacement marketplace?

From a failed attempt to steal my cat, I had to replace it due to a cut in the pipe which could not be easily repaired.

I have the old one; is there a market for old cat's? I have any and all docs, along with a video to prove my ownership. Curious who has thoughts and answers:

I’ve seen them at the scrap metal yard when I’ve taken other metals. I think now they require more info from the scrapper, but I’m not sure what specifically

Have you just tried posting them to classifieds? Craigslist, Facebook marketplace or local? We’ve got a very good local marketplace (KSL.com) covering Salt Lake City, any time I’ve put anything exhaust related I’m inundated with questions about the cats. Interestingly they’ll pay too $$$ for factory, but I’ve got aftermarket ones that came off my wife’s Bimmer and no one wants them.
