Thanks for sharing. I've had the parts now for a year, but keep pushing off this work because of other more pressing home projects. Mine is a <50k mile 2013 (V8), but still.

Just a heads up, my 2013’s crossover pipes started to leak around 50-60k. Forget the actual mileage, but I could check for you if you want.

Quick diagnostic look see for small leaks.

Works for both 2013 and 2016

Remove appearance cover.
Get flashlight, even better get UV flashlight
If wet or UV active (assuming you run Rover coolant), then it's leaking.

It's easier if you wait until it's dark, at least inside the engine compartment.

Location 1
At about the 01:00 position on the oil filter, get up and over and look wayyyy down there.
Most likely inboard gasket on oil cooler tube or front crossover(s)

Location 2
Find passenger side fender at headlights and define that as the center of the clock.
Looking from just a few inches above the fender.
Look at about the 1:30-2:00 position in and down and across the front of the engine.
There is a small flat spot which collects dribbles down the front of the engine.
Also look wayyy down to the skid plate.
Most likely water pump, water pump gaskets or outboard side of the oil cooler tube.

My 2013 at 90K had small leak at outboard side of the oil cooler tube.
This was a gasket seep that was slowly getting worse.

My 2016 at 60K had small leak at front crossover
This was a seep, but the pipe had failed and could have gone catastrophic at any time - very lucky catch !!

I lucked out about a month or so ago, wife got a low-coolant warning, ended up being the water pump which literally blew the night before. I've got a 2012 105k, wanted to do it myself but time was of the essence, luckily my indy had downtime and was able to replace the that and the crossovers for good measure. Been waiting for this to happen honestly, glad it happened close to home. Great video!

Absolutely an awesome video. Definitely not too long, filled with lots of interesting and beneficial information. I’m thinking of doing this on my 2014 LR4. After watching all the work you put into it, I am definitely not in a hurry, as I can tell that so far I don’t believe I have any problems at 95,000 miles, and I can see that at least the front crossover and piping has already been done once already (lots of unknown here). I can’t thank you enough for this great video. Would like to find a way to get an actual copy of it so I can watch it multiple times, and really digest the process before I dive into this one. Again thank you so much for posting this fantastic video. Job very very well done!
