What’s the average lifespan for diffs and tcase if they’ve had fluids changed at recommended intervals & haven’t been abused?

Transmission?

Airbags?

Not sure on the average lifespan but from my countless hours of research on various landrover forum the items you mentioned are not Troubleprone and proper maintance should provide a long life. 300,000 km (185,000 miles) and they are still going strong.

You don't need to worry about them.

My cars transfer case was making metal. Dealership just said they found metal in the transfer case oil, and boom, new transfer case.

Never saw how bad/not bad it was since it was under warranty, but I don't think I've heard of anyone else having transfer case problems.

Probably would have never been replaced if the dealer wasn't troubleshooting a drivetrain noise either.

that sucks, but unfortunately there's always outliers.

The case and diffs are the same across LR3, 4, L322 RRS, Disco 5, D90 and 110. I know the tcase is the same on the L320 as well, not sure about the 405 and new range rovers.

As far as the transmission goes, it's a ZF unit that's used in almost every Land Rover, plus a lot of BMWs, Audis, Fords, and Volkswagens.

It's probably one of the more reliable complex components on the Land Rover.

For airbags, if you mean the suspension, they last about as long as a standard strut lasts. Front ones generally go around 110k miles, depending on use. Rear ones longer.
