New to this forum, new owner of 2005 LR3.
Recently had the PCV valve replaced by mechanic due to LARGE plumes of white smoke, usually while climbing.
I guess he had to rev the engine a lot to get the dirt out, or sumthin... cause when I drove off, the overspeed warning (140km/hr) was on. Being in a hurry, I thought that it might reset itself after a few restarts of the ignition... my old Saab used to do this...
But, no such luck, and a few starts later, the engine light comes on and stays on, but there doesn't seem to be anything "wrong" when driving. I will take it back to the mechanic soon but thought that maybe someone has an idea of 1) why the overspeed warning note staying on... I would read the manual but it is in Spanish, so I really should download the English version, but so far the only one I have found, is a pay for receiving... I will pay but only after I have exhausted my searches. thanks!

You are going to have to be a lot more descriptive. I've had an LR3 for 17 years now and there is no "Overspeed" Warning. Take some pics or videos of what it's doing and upload them.

He's talking about page 15 of the attached, "Programmable Overspeed Warning". You and I wouldn't need to know about it because we're wide open all the time. LOL. I have read this stupid manual front to back several times and remembered seeing that somewhere and lo and behold a quick search of overspeed brought that section up. Good luck Heidi 77 and welcome to the forum. And BTW I'm a former Saab owner too.

Evidently they felt it was so important that they carried it over to the new Discovery in 2017. I have no clue what the purpose is. There is a lot of discussion about it on the forums, generally having it come on where the PO set it and someone exceeds the threshold for the first time.
