OP, if you are handy at all with a wrench, the brakes are pretty easy on an LR4. Much easier than any Land Cruiser I've owned (which needed brakes more often).

The only hangup is making sure you have a 21mm 12-point socket to remove the caliper bracket. A 6-point socket will not do.

You can buy new OEM rotors and pads, or you can go aftermarket. There's a good thread on this forum about aftermarket options.

What the dealership wants is you to do, which is what most Land Rover owners would do, is just walk over to the new car lot and buy a new one instead of investing $20k in a $20k truck.

They’ll offer you $12k on trade or some crap towards a new $75k vehicle.

And it prob works on most Land Rover clientele. Because let’s be honest… the people posting on forums and in 10 Land Rover Facebook groups, and have a dedicated Instagram account for their Land Rover, are not the typical people they deal with on a daily basis.

Possibly, but don't most dealers create just as much margin from service as from sales? I know that was the case growing up when my Dad worked at a small town dealer.

Maybe times have changed. I have been away from that business for a long time.

To the OP. Probably get by with just pads for $100 :) or $25k at the dealer .
I did notice a little wobble suggesting warped disks occasionally, so picked up EBC pads, rotors and new sensors as recommended by Lucky8.

I might do myself, but I'm deep into selling a house, buying a house and building a bathroom along with a promotion at work so I might punt to a trusted shop with parts I've purchased.
