do you have a pic of the collapsed filer?
Why I ask is that collapsed filters are either due to the filter media becoming completely clogged and/or the bypass valve failing. Our cartridge type filters do not contain a bypass valve like an external filter can style would. The bypass is a separate component. Putting a fresh filter will not correct a potentially faulty oil bypass and you could end up with the same problem.
