My story -
Went on a 5 day trip last week in my 2012 LR4 HSE(108Kmi)and a red triangle appeared in the dash cluster 3 days...thought it might be the dreaded timing chains, I was so nervous being so far from home so I drove to a nearby Autozone store for a free OBDII scan. They scanned it twice and couldn't find any codes. They asked me when was the last time I filled my gas tank. I told them 1 day ago. They looked at the gas cap and said the seals were worn out and that it could be the gas cap so I bought one there(a Duralast 99304 96845). They said to drive it for 20-30mi and it might clear the warning triangle, so I drove not more than 3 miles to get a bite to eat and after eating, I started the LR4 back up and saw the triangle was gone YAY...drove ~500mi back home with no problems...

You can get reimbursed I had mine done at the dealer iit took three tries the first time I filled up on my way home parked on a slightly slope in the driveway and found a puddle of gas under the car called tge dealrer and they sent a flatbed. They dropped the tank again and found pieces of rust on the oring seal they drove it back and i filled it up again during the heat of the day there was another puddle of gas and a strong gas oder called the dealer and they sent someone to pick it up they replaced the oring this time and no oder or puddle
I would suggest your seal is leaking and have it replaced under the recall and only fill it up until the pump shuts off years ago i used to over fill a little and had to have the fuel pressure sensors replaced

I've been dealing with that lately. Haven't had the recall done yet, but I did replace the parts myself a while back. I got other EVAP and purge valve codes, couldn't fill the truck with gas last summer. new DMTL pump and purge valve did the trick. Occasionally I get the purge valve and gas cap warnings, just put a new cap on. Haven't had the fueling issue anymore though.
Dealer supposedly swapped the purge valve. I just changed the DMTL pump. Stopped at the gas station fingers crossed…. Nope didn’t fill all the way. I cleared the codes, so hoping at least the CEL and gas cap warnings do not return.

how far is all the way? My truck rarely fills up passed 7/8s or 9/10s. When I had fueling issues I literally could not get ANY fuel in without it pouring back out.

Before the fuel recall work was completed, it would fill to 10/10. Now it’s about 7/8 and it’s not the gauge because it’s definitely less fuel/range.

I took my '13 in for the recall about 2 weeks ago. It only took half a day. 20 miles later my Check Fuel Tank Cap warning came on and CEL for "P0456-00 (AF) Evaporative emission system leak detected." I brought it back and they replaced the gas cap. Another 20 miles later, both lights came on again. I brought it back and they performed a smoke test on the fuel system and found a pinched seal at the fuel flange which they replaced. 20 miles later, both lights are on again and I'm scheduled to go back Monday. I have a feeling this next visit is going to be on my dime. I'm really regretting having the recall serviced in the first place.

Doesn't sound like there's been any one cause or solution to this problem. Anyone have advice to tell the shop as to what to look for?

Update: After having the vehicle another week they've determined that my fuel filler neck has a leak. They want $1,600 to replace it and the filler hose and are adamant that the services they performed have nothing to with the damage and is not covered under the recall.

oh they would be paying for that lol i don't care if they have documentation and video proof of them not going anywhere close near the fuel filler neck. You didn't have the issue before the recall work and now your fuel filler neck is leaking? Obviously the fuel filler neck was damaged due to the handling of the tank during the recall repair. Those lines and parts under there are old and any touching and finagling down there could damage unassociated unrelated things. That's definitely not our problem. They need to take responsibility for anything that happens post repair. It's kind of like getting treated for a heart operation at the hospital..yeah they fixed your heart but now you're on your own after you got an infection from the surgery? not cool LR dealer not cool....

If they dropped the tank (which I believe is part of the recall work and the reason they request 1/4 tank or less), I would expect they would have had to disconnect the filler neck.

I never received any Recall letters on my 2012 LR4, but mine was on the list. I was going to pass but started having gas fumes the other day. You know the old saying.

Called Land Rover today to get approval. Told them I never received a recall Letter. They said it was up to my states DMV to do the notices.

I have an appointment Monday September 26th. Dealer said it will need to stay overnight. I asked for a loaner and they said no, I am not surprised. I explained it is a 200 mile round trip and 600 miles if I use two vehicles.

I also asked about getting a new keyfob. Last September it was $847, now it is $900. I thought they were pulling my leg last year. I now know they were treating me like a typical Land Rover customer.

BTW:The parts from Land Rover are $291 plus tax and shipping

$30 ebay key + IID tool will be cheaper than a factory key.
