Debating on purchasing an LR4 was looking for a 2016 ones in US market however prices are crazy 30k-43k with 50-90kmiles... seems overpriced when new discovery starts around 60k. Can some one share any imput.

Car prices have gone up during the pandemic (although they are slowly beginning to come back to earth). There's also been increased demand for boxy off-road-ish SUVs, probably relating back to everyone's desire to live outside when the world closed during 2020.

On a whim, I ran my 2016 w 45K miles by carmax a month or so ago. Their offer was $40K, roughly. On the one hand I'd be stupid not to take that. On the other, the LR4 is basically the most useful car ever made, so what would I replace it with ?

Most of the inflated markets are cooling. V8 LR4s are a few grand cheaper than they were at the height of crazy, the 14-16s SCV6s are still up because dealers are riding that "last of their generation!" thing. It's essentially the same truck as a 12 is with a different motor and trans. If you can find a low miles (<75k) 13 V8, its going to be in the mid to high 20s which is a good buy.

Still not a pre-COVID pricing, but we may probably never get back there for these trucks. For reference, Porsche sold more 911s than LR did LR4s from 2010-2015. 2016 was the most sold of the LR4s.

Do you have the build/sales numbers for the US or globally?
The numbers I found were US-only. I’m sure there are a lot more globally. There are months (a single month, multiple times) where Jeep moves almost as many Wranglers as V8 LR4s were sold in four years.
