Hello,

My 2012 LR4 US Spec has begun making an intermittent squeal during hard left turns.

The squeal is coming from the right rear. I’m thinking it may be a sticking caliper because I jacked up the Rover thinking it was a wheel bearing but the hub doesn’t move at all.

I did find the upper carrier to UCA bushing going bad so I’ll be fixing that next weekend.

Any ideas on what may be wrong or how I can diagnose a slight sticking brake caliper?

I'd start by pulling the caliper pins out and looking at their condition.

Lubing them would be a good start to see if that fixes your issue. Check to see if the brake pad is wearing evenly (Top to bottom of the pad, and both sides of the vehicle)

You should be able to see if the caliper is hanging up - the pads will be tight to the disc. If they are loose, but wheel is still not spinning free, likely the parking brake hanging up. Look up the Bodsey brake bible and find the procedure for the parking brake adjustment.

Wheel spins free but squeaks on turns (mainly left) and slow speed. Passed bearing test, haven’t adjusted PB or removed caliper yet. Plan to disassemble, clean & lube everything this weekend.
