Installed myself a new little toy to use in CO! I know I know, it's sticking out. No it doesn't interfere with clearance. I just wasn't happy with a completely hidden winch. I love it! Looks beefy and is practical...and I'm likely to hit my shin on it. I used a harbor freight winch tray, modified it a little and spliced it into the front bumper. Yeah it works great! Total cost, around $375. I plan on doing a write up on it just in case anyone wants to give it a shot or improve on what I've done. I'm sure there are a lot of you who will criticize the method, however, I've tested it and it doesn't flex much. Can't wait to test it for real!

I’d rather have the winch stick out a little than completely eliminate the crash bar like some kits/installs do.

Today in the Tillamook Forest, went with a buddy in his Wrangler to earn his Jeep badge of honor for Cedar Tree #13.

Still need to get used to being off camber, it feels very precarious. Being on three wheels was surprisingly not a big deal.

Finally did the facelift to Xenons for the upcoming darker season here. The halogens were just awful at 105k miles. I tried polishing the lenses and then said YOLO as the kids do and got these babies. So choice. If you have the means…

Unpopular opinion, Santorini Black is the best looking color for this car. Even after 140K miles Santorini Black still shines this good. Ceramic coating was done about a year ago. Sure it’s a pain in the ass to deal with, gets dirty within 3 days, makes the car a sauna when sitting in the sun, and shows scratches more then any other color, but when it’s clean, it’s unbeatable. Been offroading a couple of times since then and the car sat in a transmission shop lot in the socal sun for nearly 6 weeks at the hottest time of year but just putting in a little work by washing it and ceramic boosting the coating, it shines just as good as it did when it was new.

Also what do you guys think of the build? I’m thinking of adding a hidden winch in the stock bumper and having the cable clamp onto the front tow hook. Any suggestions on what else to add?
