Alternator Fuse

2010 LR4. I had a total electrical failure yesterday. I confirmed that the battery wouldn't hold a charge and replaced it. The car starts now, but when I put a voltmeter on the battery it's slowly dropping voltage while the car is running so I'm thinking the alternator has failed. I was checking for anything related to the alternator, and I noticed the 5a fuse for the alternator is missing. Not sure if it was ever there, but is this an issue?

I would put in the correct fuse and give it a go. Put a multimeter on it to check voltage on the battery terminals. Check grounding wires at both ends, especially under the wheel well, it's known to get corroded.

I just went through this, battery died and the dash lit up while the wife was driving. I exchanged the battery but the voltage was dropping and the alternator was only putting out 11ish volts. Remove the ground and the battery did recover telling me the alternator was not charging but had enough output to make it home. FYI alternators have gone up in price $350 shipped.

Did adding the fuse do anything? I’m having starting issues, battery is good and once the car is started the alternator is charging the battery but I noticed I am also missing f20, alternator 5a fuse. I am currently jump starting the vehicle every day in order to drive it.

I’m chasing the faults below and noticed I don’t have the 5a fuse in F20 either.

Rear Axle Fault
Stability control not available
Emergency brake assist not available
HDC not available system fault
