Start and let idle. Crack the bleeder (it may disintegrate) on the passenger side near the firewall. Once coolant comes out there close it and crack the bleeder over the throttle body until coolant comes out. Keep topping coolant up in expansion tank. That should take care of bubbles. You can always rev it a bit to encourage any trapped air along.

Do I keep the expansion tank lid off while doing this or only remove to add coolant?

The best way that I found was to open the expansion tank and remove the intake harmonic tubes to access/disconnect the gray coolant connector near the throttle body to fill coolant. That line runs between the lower rear block to the expansion tank overflow and filling it guarantees coolant is in the block. You might still have little air pockets, but filling the block will help circulate coolant to remove air pockets from the block. Keep some coolant on hand to top it off after a drive.

Getting access to the gray connector, removing the intake harmonic tubes.

The gray tube with the retaining clip removed, just disconnect the tube and use a syringe to fill it up with coolant.

Took it to the shop that remanufactures and installs engines (Ronda Used Auto Parts - Houston, TX).

Ali checked it out and pressure tested it.

Heater core and rear heater core have slight leaks. So slight they’re almost unnoticeable and potentially draining through AC drain lines.

Bypassed heater, no coolant fluctuation today. I believe we fixed the issue.

Next question… how big of a PITA is replacing heater lines & cores?

The saga continues…

It still has a small amount of residual pressure in the morning after sitting all night.

Not sure if there’s still air lock or what.

Edit: bled properly and issue has been resolved.
