2011 LR4. Noticed there are three soft buttons on the lower left side of the rearview mirror. Looked in the owner's manual and all they talk about are the side mirrors. Tried pushing the buttons and a little LED light came on next to the button as I was holding it down. Went off as soon as I released. Didn't see any other difference in the mirror. Tried all three buttons and got the same result. Does anyone know what these soft buttons are for? Attached is a pic of the underside of the mirror.

Finally got around to getting my LR4's HomeLink (located on the bottom of the rearview mirror) programmed to open my Genie garage door opener. Had been using the clunky plastic clip-on garage door opener clamped onto my sun visor. (Hopefully those impression marks will fade over time).

Now, not only am I a master mechanic (changed my own rear brake pads), I'm also a general contractor and a journeyman electrician (maybe even a software engineer).

In all seriousness, I'm finding that often it's the little things that can be satisfying as well. I've had a lot of those little wins over my brief period of LR4 ownership and they start to add up. Maybe they aren't a bull bar or hidden winch or steel rear bumper with a swing away spare tire mount, but they increase my family's ability to enjoy it. That makes me happy.

Skipping the backstory, but finally programming the garage door opener buttons on Red Rover that I picked up about a year ago.

Followed the directions, multiple times.
Rover responds and everything looks like it should work

But
Garage door opener does not respond...

Garage door opener ok with hand held remote and outdoor mounted pad.

Any ideas ?
Thanks...

My 2012 LR4 won't talk to my garage door (wrong technology), I had to purchase one of these as a relay:

The product states this:
"855LM LiftMaster HomeLink Repeater Kit for Security+ 2.0 Garage Door Openers For use with vehicles equipped with HomeLink and need to be programmed to a LiftMaster MyQ, Craftsman Assurelink, or Chamberlain MyQ garage door operator Contains a Repeater and New Remote Control along with Instructions Only compatible with automobiles equipped with HomeLink The repeater accepts and converts a non-compatible HomeLink signal into a Security+ 2.0 compatible signal Can be programmed to more than one Security+ 2.0 garage door opener Install one repeater per home HomeLink remote is NOT to be used as a garage door opener remote control Visor Clip for Remote NOT included"

There is a little delay as it relays but it does work (I don't need the sun visor clip, it works with the Homelink).

Yeah my left door is where the LR4 resides because the opener is "old technology" It don't speak the new language. Like the 30 pin apple cord

@txfromwi I had the same problem initially. Where I was going wrong is I just programmed the soft button on the LR4 but never activated the "learn" function on the garage door opener. Apparently some garage doors will sync up just by programming the HomeLink soft key on the vehicle. Mine required activating the learn button to make the wireless connection. I was lucky enough to find the old manual for the garage door opener. The instructions were about three lines and one small diagram showing the learn button and blinking activation light. Once I followed those simple instructions, the HomeLink synced up to my Genie garage door opener immediately.

The HomeLink website is also pretty good for finding the right instructions for your unit.

I have two garage door openers, one is quite new (circa 2021) the other is older (circa 2013). The LR4 works fine with the older one but not with the newer one. Both door openers have learn buttons (button color is important in the Chamberlain world)! Just an FYI.
