Please see photo.

Just finished the annual deep detail on the 2013 and noticed this, so it's new in the past 12 months.
It's most pronounced on the rear pillars and under the sun visors, but small pockets elsewhere as well.
Causes? Fixes?

This is the 2013 that we purchased new.
Garage stored in Houston, TX, so that means kinda air conditioned and kinda dehumidified. A whole lot better than being outside but not as good as being in the house.
Always used a sun shield to try to keep her a bit cooler and the UV off the interior.

Has mostly been in storage since Covid, only 6K miles in the last 2 years.

Thanks!

Unfortunately a common issue - it starts small and spreads.

I have heard of people that poke a hole in it and spay aerosol carpet glue trough a tube but sounds dodgy to me.

In Australia there are a number of companies that remove and recover the entire roof piece. Not sure about the US..

Also in Houston. Same problem just started on my 2012 within the last year.

I know some others in the area have removed the headliner and had it recovered. I think that is the only viable long-term solution. I have heard of people having some success using a clothes steamer to re-activate the existing adhesive.

Steaming won't work. There's a foam layer between the headline and the fabric. The foam deteriorates, causing the fabric to delaminate.

Most upholster shops can recover the headliner.
I had my wife's Jag done about 10 years ago. Its starting to delaminate again.

I'll ask where my my Indy guy gets it done. I have seen a finished product in his shop awaiting install and it looked good.

Alternatively, I use Trendsetter Upholstery on the far west side in Katy for upholstery work. They do very good work. Been going there for more than a decade. I am sure if he didn't want to do it he could point you to someone who would. Call and talk to Chuck.

I’m in Montgomery up on the lake. Down to travel wherever though if they do a good job.

Id like to go with black suede.

Did y’all ever end up having them redone? If so how’d they turn out?
