    I will2nd wheel bearings. Get it up on a hoist running in gear with ye old stethoscope on each hub. That usually will tell you if you have a bad bearing.

    If it is not the brake switch the junction box behind the battery can corrode giving sporadic grounding. Check that as well.

    Thanks for the info on the timing tensioners. Tensioner failure is not the black/white issue it first appears to be. Some very high mileage vehicles on originals when the general wisdom is ALL 2010-2012 tensioners fail early... Happy trails with whatever you end up with.

    The good news is that an old clogged filter still filters fine, it just doesn't flow lol. I doubt you will see much gain considering the 5.0 has two filters. It would take a lot for the filters to be the restriction. That is a lot of sand though..

    It was around 2006+ that the RR wheels used the same lug nut design. I am running some old RR 7 spokes for winter tires and I believe they were 2006. Any earlier is not worth the hassle IMO for a one off spare (lugging around extra lugs lol) These wheels. Not my rig.

    I will come back to fuel. Was there an increase in ethanol in the 91 at that time? (ex. state mandated) Some premium fuels up here have changed from pure gasoline to 5-15% ethanol. Kills mileage.

    Start easy. Can of BG44K. Then plugs. BG sells an intake tract leaning service as well which may get some of the junk off the backside of your intake valves. Then the expensive stuff.

    to the OP: Same fuel blend? Up here we get "winter gas" which cuts mileage. Fortunately we still have some sources which are 100% gasoline and none of this alcohol crap.

    Yes those Range Rover wheels will work (2010+) will work but isn't that a ton of weight to lug around way up high on your vehicle? Older than that and the wheels require different lug nuts. It may be 2009...

    Yup. The deletion of the standard 2 speed transfer case along with replacing the V8 with a SCV6 and the entire D5 development is some of the most stupid things Land Rover has done. Did they really save much deleting the 2 speed TC?

    It looks like you had LR4s in the past so you know what you are missing. As long as the body is solid I would probably just keep the 08. The mileage isn't very high. No LR4 is going to be "modern". The last one rolled off the line 5 years ago.
