    Saying goodbye to an albatross

Well, thought my ‘10 LR4 would be able to last, but has turned out to be the most unreliable POS I have ever owned. I purchased it with 36K miles, now has 75K, driven gently by the wife. I have had to replace two water pumps, an alternator, two batteries, 3 sets of tires, and a set of brakes...

    P0018 CRANKSHAFT SENSOR

I had the liberty to have access to some shop manuals but cannot find the location of the Crankshaft position sensor. By some illustrations it appears on the back of the block near the trans. It's from my 2010 LR4, 5.0L V8. The shop manual has NO VALUE to location, page 1964 for reference...

TPMS sensor needs to paired? 2010 LR4

I had a local shop put in two rear sensors ( he said air was leaking past them and they were bad ). After $250 or so they still don't function. He said they need to be paired or code cleared or driven at a constant rate for 20 minutes. I have researched several opinions on this, anyone have any...

    P003C 2010 LR4

Just had the code pop up. Wifey drove to Traverse city and possibility of low octane gas and or gas cap not tightened. Last option is VVT sensor or actuator. Was curious as if anyone has had to replace the sensor since it looks like a 12 hour job. If that's the case, I'm dumping the LR4, I can't...

Anyone running Rover's North 2" lift rods?

How much typically are these and is it similar to vida/dice that Volvo uses? I have a BT OBD2 reader with iPhone app that I use for my Miata to clear codes and read..I'm wondering if it will work

What the heck is this thing?

Sometimes ballasts are placed in vehicles to counter NVD and harmonic occurrences. These are found in many vehicles. I would not be surprised to see if this were the case.

2012 LR4 18,000 miles replacing the breaks myself.

Ok. I hate to beat a dead horse but I'm at my wits end to replace. I tried to price out at several places: Atlantic British LR Merriam Place for brakes.com Buy brakes.com AB has a 4 wheel kit but won't sell for early 2010 vin # below AA547441 (which mine is). Those #s coincide with LR Merriam...

Went to EBC web page and they seem to make a orange heavy duty for LR. http://ebcbrakes.com/Assets/ecatalogues/2016_USA_Automotive_Catalogue/USA_Automotive_Catalogue_2016.html#p=260

I watched a vid re LR3 replacement. It seems very simple but this guy used akebono which I have used on my Volvo. Any thoughts?

    Battery and alternator woes

Back and forth with the dealer, rented a car for several days while they were tending to my truck. After they got done swapping parts, they offered me a loaner this time (LR2 replacement discovery sport, good upgrade for the lr2 but awful compared to the LR4. Drove that for three or four days...

    Battery and alternator woes

If you read my hijack of someone else's thread (sorry about that) you will see the woes I've had with this. Basically wifey has '10 LR4 with now 55K miles on it. Replaced the WP last winter and now the alternator this winter. Wife slumbered the vehicle home as it was shutting down voluntarily...
