Hi guys, I'm Tong from southern California.
I just recently picked up an early LR4 a few months ago. I've had a LR3 for a few years before. I fell in love with Land Rovers ever since and seeing all of the awesome Land Rovers on this forum has motivated me to start modding mine. Here's a link to my old Rover. https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/2006-land-rover-lr3-bonnati-grey.30028/
So far I've done a lot of late LR4 upgrades so that it looks a little more up to date. I thank the guys at Powerful UK for all of the parts to help me with that. https://www.powerfuluk.com/
I went with British 4x4 Outfitters for the lifting rods since they gave me more adjust-ability over fixed lift rods. They're pretty awesome since I've had Johnson Rods before which didn't achieve the stance I was looking for. You can check them out here. https://british4x4outfitters.com/
For the wheels, I went with VIP Modular's FF-550's since I work there and it was easy. The specs are 18"x8.5" Et +39. Pretty much the same specs as Compomotive's as far as how they sit towards the outside. I had the grind down the brake calipers just a tiny bit because they were touching the inside of the wheels. The little fins on the calipers were ground down maybe 2mm's. Not a bog deal, it was quite easy. http://vipmodular.us/collection/ff550/
The tires are from Toyo. I went with the Open Country RT's in 285/60/18 with no rubbing issues at all. I'm quite happy with the way they look and I'm sure they'll perform nicely on trails. As anticipated they make a moderate humming from road noise. https://www.toyotires.com/tire/pattern/open-country-rt-on-off-road-rugged-terrain-tires
That's about it for now on the mods. My future plans are a few parts from Pro Speed. Looking into their roof rack, sliders and their ladder. My local Land Rover shop, Carrs 4x4 in Huntington Beach, has these parts in stock. Just need to pull the trigger one of these days.
If you have any questions, or if I can help in any way, feel free to IM me. Thanks and enjoy the photos.
