Nearing the 150,000 mile mark in my 2012 LR4 V8 5.0. Got it at just over 100k and have kept up with regular maintenance (Oil changes, brakes, some coolant/radiator work). At my last oil change I received an inspection that revealed some issues with the front lower control arms which is apparently to be expected based on my reading of other threads. I figure if I do the work it would be easier to change out the whole thing using the Atlantic British kit rather than just the bushings so I plan on doing that, as well as the transfer case and front/rear diff fluids. Along with this I plan on doing the normal oil change and front/rear brake pads (rotors were replaced last brake change). Where I just got work on the coolant system done (147k) I am not sure if I would need to flush the system. I think this should be a doable in my garage with some jacks (based on YT videos but Lord knows how that will go), please let me know if I am missing any service/maintenance I should be keeping up with. I plan to run this thing for a long time and want to be as prepared as possible. Thanks in advance!

The following comes to mind:

- Front and rear crossover pipes (if they weren't already done with the coolant system)
- Transmission fluid
- Timing chains (that's the biggie)

I've done most of the fluid changes by crawling underneath, it wasn't too bad. I'd look at the service manual for other suggestions. Good luck and welcome.

Related question, what about injectors and plugs? When are folks performing those items? I'm at 120k.

I’m at 158k with original plugs and injectors. Pretty much just coolant system, lower control arms, oil changes, brakes, rotors, and one alternator so far. I’ve owned since new from 2011. Check engine light twice in my ownership (when alt went out and MAF sensor). Nuisances here and there like the stuck tailgate and water through the sunroof but no mechanical issues. I live in NYC and i daily it. Drove it to Canada and Florida like 20 times from new york. It can be an easy truck for some people. Even if i did jinx myself, it gave me many great years lol. I did however do oil changes very frequently. Like 3k miles. Overkill but I do them through FCPeuro so the cost is minimal to me. I do however think the timing chain issue has nothing to do with frequent oil changes. Just a luck and chance thing when it would go bad i guess. Maybe i am wrong. This service has been working for me and doesn’t cost me much. Do your oil changes frequently!

Thats a pretty good ownership record. How many miles did you get out of the alternator?

Have you tried to remove any of the plugs? That was my biggest worry as they tend to corrode themselves in there (visions of the old Ford 4.6/5.4). Otherwise at 100k miles they were ok looking but the threads were no longer spring chickens. Was happy to get some new ones in there.
