5.0L Natural vs Supercharged

    Asking for a friend.

    We have a blown 5.0L supercharged engine on a 2011 Range Rover Sport. Can we put a naturally aspirated long block into the truck, bolt the supercharger back on top?

    5.0 SC engines are a lot harder to find than the naturally aspirated engines.

    Not really, you would need to change the pistons, ECU, probably the injectors, add the intercooler, etc. More trouble than it is worth, better to just find a new-to-you Supercharged AJ133, or rebuild your current engine.

    I have all the ECU's and intercoolers and crap... the car is originally a supercharged model. is there any documentation about what is different between the two engines? i.e. different connecting rods and pistons, head gaskets, etc?

    I basically need to replace the long block of the engine... is the long block not the same?

    The block probably is identical. The compression ratio of the NA pistons is much higher than the supercharged. I have no idea about the connecting rods, crank, etc?
