I see a lot of folks running the 18" Defender steelies, but has anyone tried the 20" alloys? I have a Santori Black LR4 and want to change my silver 19" oem's to a 20" black.

They have the same bolt patten (5x120) and the offsets of the Defender wheels are 42mm compared to 53mm on the LR4 wheels. Wondering in these will fit without modification to the brakes.

Thanks.

They’ll fit just fine. Just watch out for the sizing, the factory rubber is pretty big for a stock LR4 IIRC.

Thanks. I noticed that when I did a comparison of the tires. The stock 20's (255/60) are an inch taller than my bigger 19s (255/60). I do have the gap tool so I can raise it if needed, but I'm not going to put them on with the tires they come with. I'm thinking 285/50/r20 if I get the wheels... little bit taller and about an inch wider.

So I was going to pass on the 20" wheels, but the seller just said he would sell all 5 for $500. I do off road here in NC, but I don't think there is much difference between a 19 and a 20. What would you do?

I'd stick with as small a wheel as possible to get at much sidewall as possible. Even the 19" seem too big when aired down, I'd rather have 18" if possible.

Thanks. Hard to pass up 5 new wheels for $500, but in NC I do more than fire roads. I do have my 01 D2, but I'll be taking the LR4 off road and on the beach, so I'll hold out for 18's if I can find them in black for a good price.
