Picked up this shelf from bearmach.com. Used the code "dobbo" to get 10% off. Thought it was a clever item. Super easy install, seems pretty sturdy and I can still see very clearly out my rearview mirror. I've been looking for one of these for a while... The company that made them before went MIA... Then the other company is bespoke4x4 out of South Africa and they don't ship to the states. Just wanted to post in the event anyone else was looking for one. Fyi...the center partition is removable.

I have one, as well. I'm generally happy with it.

I wish it had a little more fore and aft depth to it, as the Mantec version seemed to have, but other than that, no issues.

It is great for stuffing gear like gloves, jackets, etc. up and out of the way.

Ordered one from Bearmach, DHL was horrible, but Bearmach made it right. It’s great for shoes, bike helmets, blankets, etc...I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase something from Bearmach again.

I typically try to order almost all my parts for both my Rovers from either Lucky 8 or AB here in the US but Bearmach has been great on the items I have ordered from them. The checkered bonnet plate I ordered for my D2 got lost in the mail somehow and they dispatched another quickly. The bearmach LR4 rear ladder I ordered 2 years ago is showing signs of rust in 3 places now and they just refunded the purchase price to do due to this. It is nice to see them stand behind their 3 year warranty.

BTW does the rear shelf get in the way of the rear seating? I would imagine that unless the person back there is really short it would be a problem. I might have to start using one of the rear seats for the kiddo in the near future.

How does this install? Is this something easy to remove when you need the 3rd row or all the space?

Thanks for the heads-up on the product.

It mounts with four bolts that attach where the 3rd row grab handles attach. If you want to remove there are 4 other bolts on the bottom of the shelf that can be removed easily.

Does it look like a dog guard would still fit with this installed? i would like to leave that in place if possible when i don't need the 3rd seat. thanks!

I’m not sure where the dog gate attaches, but you have quite a bit of room between the shelf and back seats.

I can’t sit back there, but my 10-year-old can. Here’s the 2 hex bolts on each side you can remove to remove the shelf. The brackets would stay in place.
