the story continues-
"after failed attempts by tugboats to unbeach the ship, several LR4s came racing down the deck and onto the shallow beach where they hooked up several cables to the ship and towed it all the way back to the port"
Amazing!

It would suck to have ordered a truck, waiting months, and then have it "lost" because of a circumstantial accident like this. I do think that the captain/pilot did the right thing it seems by beaching it to salvage the ship and maybe the cargo. Pretty incredible.

I wonder who holds the insurance on those shipments?

Looks like the right side suspension is leaking :)

I read somewhere that the tie down system in those ships is pretty impressive. Guy said the vehicles should all be fine and only moved an inch or so from where they were sitting.

Now if the straps or anything breaks, that could be another story.

Still want to know what made it list.

They were headed to the middle east. I read that in the past they scrapped a whole shipment of mazdas or something just because they worried about lawsuits.

Maybe parts inventory will go up?
