I just got the check engine light!!
I tried to scroll through the instrument panel to see if I could get a clue, but the drop-down panel would not expand to provide info.
I have the ID II tool, but haven't tried it yet. Can anyone tell me if this would get me some kind of answer?
I'm not inclined to drive it right now; I've already experienced an engine that over-heated on My LR3 ($$$$), and I don't want to drive this one while staring at the mysterious 'warning light'!!!

Thanks is advance!!

Yes, the IID tool should read the codes and tell you what you're dealing with. Safest thing to do is to read the codes and make a call based on that as to whether it is driveable.

Give the codes a read and report back here. You might be lucky and have something simple like the DMTL pump. $80 part later and I was back in service.
