Difference in 2 button keyless remotes?

I purchased a pair of remotes on Ebay for a recently aquired '96 Disco SE. The seller claimed that they both worked on his 97. One of them is the origional 3TXB, but the other is a 17TN. I don't want to make the 3 hour drive to the stealer if only one of these will work. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Just call the dealer and ask if they will work, before the drive.... I also hope for you sake that they acually work (meaning they are not broken)
