Discovery LR5 Air Suspension Issue

Hello all, I could use a little help

I have an LR5 that all of a sudden the suspension will not raise the vehicle. After doing a little searching here I found a thread that talks about the possibility of the suspension compressor not working. I looked on you tube and found an amazing video of a mechanic showing you how to replace the compressor here is the link

I took out the compressor and drilled out the rivets from the cover so that the compressor was exposed, I put back the compressor and conected it and turned on the rover. I immediately saw what the issue was. The culprit is the Dryer Valve when the compressor turned on you could see and hear a massive air leak through the Dryer Valve. You do not have to buy the entire compressor, you can simply purchase the Dryer Valve, remove the rivets and reinstall it. Cost was $75 on amazon this is the part number from Land Rover LR140035.

So I reinstalled everything turned on the Rover and the it started to fill the lines with air and the suspension raised the Rover.

The issue that I am having is that the compressor keeps on pushing air through the line and the air attachment point snaps off and the SUV goes down again.

Is this happening because the computer needs to be reset and it is not recognizing sufficient air in the lines?

Is the air line blowing off the drier fitting?
If so, you will need a new air line connector fitting.

Yes it’s the fitting that connects the compressor to the air line. It keeps snapping off, but I don’t see the compressor stopping does it need to reach a certain pressure point to stop? Thx

The compressor does stop when the desired pressure is reached.
If that fitting is leaking, the compressor will keep running.

The fitting wasn’t leaking it was snapping off as pressure increased. I assume those plastic threads ware off and the fitting being tight gets compromised.

Can you post a picture of the fitting, after it broke off?

Apologies for the delay. As you can see the only way it would stay attached is with the draw-ties.

You will need a new fitting.
Don't take apart the new fitting and make sure the tubing is inserted all the way in.

Hey bro, I did exactly as you advised I ordered a new fitting. I took that one off. I cut the zip tie and I installed the new fitting. It’s working perfect. Everything is working fine. It’s going up and down. The only thing I regret was not doing in a little bit sooner because I rode the car for a little while with a suspension at the bottom and I think it threw off my camera on the rear end because I had two brand new tires that it just ate up the inside line the rest of the tires brand new. But the new fitting works fantastic. I think the new fitting has to be replaced every time you replace the parts of the compressor because , taking off loses its strength somehow the threads. But I want to thank you you’re an awesome freaking dude bro. I appreciate people that help others big time means a lot man. I’m a trauma nurse and I’m always trying to help people however I can. I don’t really want anybody to pay anything back to me you know what I mean so I just wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart bro. I got you here if I ever do anything else I’ll hit you up. I kinda enjoy working on my vehicles cause I come from a father and a grandfather that were mechanics so I just don’t do that but since I grew up with them, I understand it and I do it . For example, buff Harley Davidson about three years ago and I’ve never worked on those onions before my life but I do now because I learned I just dove in there. So again I just wanna thank you brother.
