I went ahead and just realigned them, the world is right again. I forgot how much of a pain the power steering pump install is...not so much the front two bolts but that miserable little cuss in the back...glad it's done!

Anybody have the pn for this 2 piece rascal? Mine is gone...I have trien several oem sites and can't find it. I have one from a 09 RRS but it doesn't quite fit right and doesn't have the extra upper shield. Do I need the larger LR4 version?

Ready to go, all fluids in, battery charged up...."solenoid click". Dang. I have a cart hooked up to the battery. Engine rotating resistance is what I'd expect, I think. From under the vehicle I think I hear the solenoid clunk with a helper on the start button. Zero rotation, just a faint electrical hum/buzz. I had the starter bench tested on a machine at the local parts store, which it passed but it was a no load test. What are the chances it's failing under the load? I'll do some system checks in the morning...

Turned to a be that 400A mega fuse inline with the positive battery cable. It starts up and does mostly fine but fairly regularly stalls at idle while just sitting and sometimes when accelerating to around 22-2500 rpm and coming back down without catching it.

I had SDD open looking at live data to try and see what's going on. At idle in the driveway fuel pressure is about 450-500 and quickly rises to 2k -ish when accelerating. B1 MAF sensor was about 1.1v at idle while B2 showed -30.9 v. Down stream O2's were both around .75 while upstreams floated between 20 and 140 micro amps if I was seeing the scale right. Equivalance ratios for both banks didn't budge from 1. Spark plugs look new. No idea about coils. Zero current codes. Not even when stalling. Fuel level shows about 25%, though the gas is abit old since it has been sitting for months.

I'll put some fresh gas in tomorrow. Not sure what else to look at yet.

All done! I did have to replace the low pressure fuel sensor next to the transmission now it runs smooth and quiet....for DI motor.

Sidenote-2012-2014 2.0L Ford Focus uses the same low pressure sensor.

Journey is complete. Engine runs great, no leaks. I did have a mystery oil consumption issue with mushy carbon chunks from the PCV passage in the passenger valve cover getting under the diaphragm seal, which caused the valve to let oil "mist" through and get into all the cylinders and oil soak everything. Removed both, cleaned and reinstalled new ones because the tabs that hold the cap down like to break. Everything is good now and the exhaust and plugs are all cleared out. Ready for adventure!
