ok, found a great oem used tank. as it turns out my tank is ok even though showing some surface rust. Compressor was giving up the ghost. Actually, 4 years ago, the original compressor quit. It was a hitachi but too corroded to rebuild or repair. I found one locally back then from a l322 but as you may know wiring is different. While i rewired that one and replaced the filter media, i installed an aftermarket [rxluckies branded] compressor to get by figuring i'd swap out the oem one in short order. well the aftermarket one lasted 4 years but finally got loud and started tripping the only standard height available error. I swapped in the oem hitachi tonight and it works a treat. I will shelve the tank for i am sure mine will eventually start leaking. For those that may want a hitachi compressor, the ones installed in the full size range rovers were located inside the body in the lower section of the boot out of the weather so usually much better used than the ones from the discoveries. You just have to change the wiring to match the discovery.
