Long story short I am diagnosing all of the electronic issues with my 2005 LR3 with 128k miles after getting the transmission serviced with new solenoids and fluid, after having leaked to a critically low state in which it couldn’t engage gears. Transmission is working good now!

Problem is I am still getting the following messages and lights after clearing all codes and resetting adaptations:

    Abs light
    Brake light
    Traction control light
Amber air suspension light (after driving faster than 10)

    Transmission fault
    Hdc fault system unavailable
    Special programs unavailable
Suspension lowered (after driving faster than 10)

Occasionally on start it will say transmission fault limited gears available and it will have engage reverse hard or start forward in 2nd gear. If I turn the car off and back on it’s fine again.

I am new to Land Rovers and have so far tried the following to no avail:

    new battery
    New tail light bulbs
    New brake switch
    Checked for loose fuses

Here are the codes it is still pulling after resetting (can’t reset srs though I have no lights for that)

    Where should I go next?

    Thanks in advance.

Any idea where I can find a diy tutorial on replacing this?

Looking at the 4x4 screen I see the on screen wheels following my steering wheel movement. Will I still have faults when this is displaying correctly?

I should also mention cruise control doesn’t work.

Not sure on the tutorial....I'm sure it's out there. You need to be able to calibrate it. The IIDTool will do it. Not sure about others.

If your steering wheel is straight, are your wheels also straight?

Yes I bought an iland and did a successful calibration. No change. I also unplugged the sas for giggles And no change in vehicle behavior but the 4x4 screen no longer followed the steering wheel.

I should also mention that the windshield cowl is broken so water is getting down there. But
On quick inspection I do not see any corrosion. I am not sure if someone tried getting in there to check wiring and broke it:

You don't need to break the cowl to look for corrosion. The water gets to the passenger floorboard; that's where a ton of wires are routed and the corrosion occurs. Where did you check?

We have covered the usual suspects for your symptoms in the absence of a water ingress condition. This is new info. I would definitely dry out the area and check all the connections.

I'd consider replacing the wheel angle sensor as well, and calibrating the new one.

I need to know where it is located in vehicle dynamics control module of an lr3.

I would appreciate the help, since I have a similar problem and I need to review the lines up to that module.

Sorry for any anomaly with the language, I only speak Spanish and I attend a translator.

Playing with the steering angle sensor last night, there was some play in the yellow collar that touches the steel, maybe 1/8” of slip, but I don’t see it shifting under normal driving conditions. I guess I can try a new one but I am not seeing any signs of failure at the moment.

Then I noticed my back was all wet. I do seem to have a water ingress issue on the driver side. I have not checked the passenger side. Will be checking sunroof drains today and try to dry it out. Is there wiring on the floorboard on the driver side?

I think so...never looked, usually the issues are on the passenger side.

I've never really looked at the sensor, how can you tell if it's failed?

Yep sunroof drain. I have water all along the wiring along the LH doors to the back seat.

Visually the grounds seem ok, no corrosion. Could the wiring be corroded along the floorboard? Nothing alarming through the peep holes outside of some paper tape getting moldy and the wiring being wet.

Does anybody know how to get the plastic cover off that hides the wiring? There are two holding tabs on each end which I have undone and it looks like it should slide forward, but I’m still getting resistance. Do I need to tear into the driver seat?

I guess I’ll just have to let this mess dry out and see what happens.
