Hi! My name's Abram and I've been lurking for ages, reading threads, researching models, pouring over spec sheets and decoding VINs, etc. etc. I have had the LR bug for as long as I have had a driver's license and I finally had the opportunity to get my first one. My only first-hand experience with Land Rover had been with my family's L322 RR HSE with the 5.0 V8. I believe my parents have had it about 10 years now and it's got about 140k on it and still going. It was my mom's primary vehicle after we sold our old Suburban, and though she passed away a year and a half ago, my dad still drives the truck daily and puts it to work. His overall experience owning the RR has been positive. There hasn't been anything major wrong with it and he just stays ahead of maintenance as he's always done with every vehicle, a trait I inherited from him.
I was previously driving a Rivian R1T for the past three years (I used to work there, so I was able to get one early) but with a second kiddo on the way, my wife and I decided we only wanted one car payment so I volunteered to sell my R1T. I knew this was my best chance to get into an "older" Rover that I could buy outright and just maintain. As of a few weeks ago I now have a 2012 LR4 in Firenze Red and I'm really looking forward to making it my own and getting it out on some trails.
The LR4 I picked up does need a couple things addressed which I already have booked with a local Rover specialist but it has been fairly well cared for in its life and had a decent amount of documentation in service history. The shop I'm taking it to did the PPI for me and even they told me it was a good buy at the time so I felt comfortable making the purchase.
