Help needed : LR4 with a Range Rover engine cover?

Hey all!

I am still trying to find a good LR4, HD, no rust. Found this one-owner-2015-lived-in-Texas-seems-good, but strangely... it has a Range Rover engine cover. What do you think?

Also here is the sound of the 90K miles engine. Does it sound good to you?

1. Lol to the engine cover.
2. Not a professional and i’m the owner of a V8 so not too sure about the SCV6, but that doesn’t sound normal. I don’t think chains. Its something else…injectors? Idk hopefully someone more mechanically inclined could chime in.

My 5.0 sounds like that sometimes with tight chains even. I’d guess injectors.

Thank you for your input. I was wondering if that could have been an engine swap?? or just a cover swap?! I wonder if the cover is interchangeable. I cannot go and inspect the machine at this time. Anyways upon hearing the sound of the engine and reading your comments I will pass on this one. Thanks for your help!

I had the dealer lose my cover once, I didn’t realize until too late and found out how expensive they are. They cut the motor noise down a lot though. If I’d had a Range Rover cover and it fit I would have used it.

Was that one white with tan interior & sold by a BMW dealership?

Sounds almost like a pulley to me. My 5.0 sounded a lot like that when the tensioner pulley went bad.
