Well it finally happened, boot wouldn’t open and I was stuck working from the inside.
1. Watched the online help videos
2. “Created” a tool to help.
3. Got it opened
4. Replaced actuator
5. Built a DIY pull release so I never have to do it again. (Although it probably won’t ever happen again...now)
This would be no fun to do if not at home so may even be a preventative measure.
Someone can definitely make a slicker pull cord, but this works for now with some parts I had around the house.
I wanted a very light wire for the pull so it would not affect the actuator.
I also wanted it to not affect the fold down sitting portion of the boot.
Only one little hole in the plastic.
Would love to see someone do this better. I think this would be good for people using the inside for camping and don’t have keys in the sleeping bag.
