Hey Guys, I'm hoping to get some great advice. I have a 97 D90 and I'm having some issues that I can't fix.

Sometimes on starting she jumps to normal idle then slowly drops to zero and stalls out. I'll turn her over 4-5 times and the same thing happens repeatedly. I let her rest 10 mins or so and she starts right up. The check engine light never comes on. And it doesn't happen ever time more often that not she starts just fine. But it's troubling enough that I don't let my wife take her out alone.

I've replaced the idle stepper motor, fuel line and filter she was running with no problem for a little while now she's acting up again.

I love this Truck any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Without knowledge like mileage, type of fuel (grade), type of plugs and wires and last tune up, if I were to guess I would say you might need a fuel pump... but I hate guessing.

Joey, thanks for you response. I use regular unleaded gas you think I should switch back to premium? Trying to save a little money, but at what cost right? She has 52,000 miles i'd have to get back to you on type of plugs and wires but she is current on her services.

Again thanks for taking time to advise I'll look into the fuel pump. I did read in the workshop manual that this could be a fuel pump issue.

Premium is always best, not worth the momentary savings at the pump... maybe $1 or $2 per fill up and what $40 or $50 a year?

Could also be a fuel pump relay, have someone listen in the trunk to see if they hear the pump come on when you turn the key to position 2
