Hey All! I’m just about finished with the 5.0SC swap into my 2012 LR4. In theory, I am going to finish connecting all the coolant hoses this weekend and charge the system. The big ask I have for y’all is if you have any pics of exactly where the intercooler pump is mounted? I have a new pump and mounting bracket, I’m just not sure it’s exact location. (Or if I’ll have the spots to mount it on my 2012.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

It’s really hard to see in real life, but the pump is directly under the circled area; driver side right by the reservoir and radiator. I pointed to the thermostat for reference, and the small hose in the circle goes straight into the top of the pump. Looks like the bracket attaches to the driver side edge of the radiator

That’s perfect! Thank you! I figured it mounted to the frame or over next to the reservoir/power steering reservoir. I have all the hoses, and in truth I figured they’d lead me to the proper mounting location! The good news is that if the radiator is any indication, the mounting points will already be there as they didn’t want to have different part numbers for the NA vs SC cooling equipment! (I hope…I’ll find out Saturday when I put it all together again!)

Thank you very much!!

Looking at the ferment notes across several websites, it’s the same Bosch pump from 2006 - 2015.

But one would think the larger supercharger would require more cooling…

I know one of the upgrades for the supercharged Mercedes is a higher flowing pump.

I know the SC v8 gets a thicker oil cooler.

Check out this thread starting about page 8/post #78; @Fuji4 goes into his swap. There is a science that's over my head about flow rate and cooling ability, and how you can flow too much that it doesn't allow enough heat transfer to be more efficient... again over my head especially given that I couldn't find exact flow ratings for the stock pump that (like you said) is used across multiple years and engine types.

I also just found recently that Velocity also has a larger pump for V8 Jags, but I don't know if the plug matches 1:1 for LRs.

Here is a link to some Jag talk about pumps as well:
