Is it possible to have Nav off by default?

I want to put an iPad where the nav screen is but don't want the nav screen on behind it. is there a setting to disable the nav screen without unplugging it and messing things up?

Assuming my LR3 is the same as yours.
press the "hard" home button below the screen, "touch" settings. 2nd from the left is a "soft button" Select screen off.

Hope this works on yours.

yeah that works to turn it off, but I was looking for a way to have it off by default when the car is started
