Hi I hope this is the correct place to post this, I'm new to forums and lr3s

I have a UK 2005 lr3 that has a intermittent fault over thinking the key is in the ignition when it's not.
I have replaced the switch on the barrel no change, I have also checked the rod in the barrel and that's not sticking. When the fault occurs I can't start or lock the car, I've tried unplugging the ignition switch when it stuck and it still stays on. If I just leave the car with the key out eventually it will realise the key is not actually there and turn off, then it will start as normal.
The only other way I can seem to get it to go off is to disconnect and reconnect the battery which cuts it out stright away.
I'm guessing it is some sort of sticking relay on te key in circuit, but I can't find any relay that cuts it out when I pull it.
Any ideas please help
