Looking for 'Sunroof Seal'

Quick Google search had it at several of the usual places (like Ebay) but also there was a dealer in FL that showed it for a price comparable to the Ebay listing, so why not just go to your dealership? Park Place Jaguar Land Rover DFW...

That sounds like the simplest idea at this point, but a quick chat with their 'chat professional' got no immediate results, stating that she needs to get with their 'parts team'. I've tried a few online sources, but I haven't gotten a result that sounds encouraging...

Hi @djatkinson, are you certain this seal fits your LR3? I was noticing that this part number LR023393 seems to be for Range Rover Sports only. I just finished fighting a leaking sunroof on my 2008 LR3 and ultimately couldn’t buy just a sunroof seal (had to buy the entire sunroof glass panel; but not the entire sunroof assembly). The seal was welded to the sunroof glass panel on mine. In the first picture (attached) you can see the weather seal up close; ignore the red stick pointing to something else. I had to pull the whole sunroof assembly out to figure out where my problem was; second picture attached.

I was noticing that also; conflicting information. It looks like I might be in for a bigger project than I had imagined. What was the cost of the replacement to get it back in order?

@djatkinson the total repair cost is hard to say, it’s a lot of man hours and a job to say the least. The part itself LR044767 about $850 from Land Rover, then about $200 in new drain hoses and replacement hardware for the assembly. You have to drop the headliner and remove much of the interior, upper and mid paneling in the process. The more you remove the easier it is to get the headliner out of the car (it’s over 8 feet long and 4 feet across). I had to strip and refinish my headliner as well, and replace some of the interior molding, both had water damage. It really depends on your situation and how much you can do yourself. The sunroof is a common problem area on the LR3’s unfortunately.

How did it fail, anyway? Did it get torn? Simply wore out? Does it live in a garage or outside?

Just wondering if I shouldn't take more care not to let mine get exposed is all.... thanks.

@Houm_WA if you mean my headliner… it was out of the car at least once before for a sunroof drain issue repair at the dealership and then out again for this repair. The fabric gets old and deteriorated over time, starts to sag especially if it gets damp or wet repeatedly. As far as parking, It gets garaged some and driveway some with me. It spent years on the coast (driveway parked) prior to me owning it.
