LR3 Fuel Door Does it Lock???

I just noticed that I can open my fuel door on my LR3 when the truck is locked. Does anybody know if it's suppose to lock or not?

It does not lock in the US market.

I never understood that difference. Are Americans more trust worthy ;-) Has anyone retrofitted the locking mechanism? If people are stealing catalytic converters, they were certainly steal gas too.

Just slap a "diesel only" sticker on the inside of your filler door. Nobody will steal it then

Or just buy a locking gas cap.

I find that the 4.4L V8 in the LR3 steals the gas out of the tank at an alarming rate! Far more than any street criminals could ever remove.

Unfortunately ,there is no lacking gas caps for LR3 ,also stealers don't mind drilling a hole in your gas tank and drain there.
