LR4 5.0 V8 - recent timing chain service with 4 new camshaft adjusters - still seems somewhat noisy??

(If anyone has any tips on how to post an mp4 (or other format), please let me know)

My LR4 (Canadian spec) has 175,000 km on it. I have never had any codes related to timing, but did have an intermittent ticking sound that was coming from a cam adjuster. I love my LR4 and plan on keeping it forever so went ahead and had the full timing chain/updated tensioner service completed, along with all 4 camshaft adjusters. The timing chains that came out showed some stretching. Other items such as water pump, alternator and more were done at the same time.

While the intermittent ticking sound is gone, it does seem to be somewhat noisy...especially when listening from the Driver's side wheel well.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Also, any suggestions on how to easily attach a video to this post?

Gotta upload the video somewhere else (like YouTube) and link it here. You can make it private in YouTube if you want so it's not posted to the world. But can't upload vids directly here (to my knowledge).

Could be manifold leak.

That’s loud. Doesn’t really sound like exhaust manifold to me. Have you checked for codes recently?

How long have you owned it and has the noise got worse lately?

Probably injectors. They wear and get noisy with age. When my engine was replaced with a used one, new injectors were installed as part of the procedure and the replacement engine, while having similar mileage to my old engine, is now significantly quieter.

Side note: cool wheels. Black Rhinos?

I partly agree that it could be injectors....I do think they have become noisier with age. I've also heard cam follower (fuel pump) could also be the issue. I've owned the car since since 60,000 km so have a pretty good feel for the sounds it makes, but it's easy to become accustom to them over time.

Yes, 18" Black Rhino's squeezed on....the inner barrels just clear the calipers and offset is flush. I can get more pics at some point and post in a new thread.

HP fuel pumps are on the passenger side. So, if it’s louder on the driver’s side, not likely the fuel pumps.
