2012 has started turning on MIL yellow check engine light. Relevant code is P0106-00 and probably going to throw a new Land Rover $150 MAP at the issue.

Anyone dealt with this before and comments? Also scared to death of getting old one out. Several videos on YouTube show the plastic ****** piece breaking off and falling into intake..with poor bast*rd having to disassemble and sift through a bunch of parts looking for it.

I guess I could spray a wee bit of WD40 under the sensor in hopes it travels down and loosens the o-ring that has glued itself to the hole after 149,000 miles.

Any other possible causes..I will check connector condition and vac lines nearby.

I think that is the code I was getting. I replaced the MAP sensor (twice, because I forgot I'd done it) with no luck. What fixed it was sending a can of crc gdi intake valve residue cleaner through. I suspect the throttle body needed cleaning, and have the gasket on hand, but since the cleaning it has not come back.

There's a small vacuum line attaching to a port on the bottom of the throttle body, driver's side, that I used to spray into.

Disappointing visit to local JLR dealer parts dept. Told them I wanted a 2012 LR4 V8 gas MAP sensor. They came back with totally wrong part number. I gave them correct part number and they came back and said it was superceded by a new part number.

Looked it up and it was for the SCV6..totally different part.

So I walked away and just ordered a Continental version from British Parts of Utah. Free shipping and $79.

Yeah, I got a continental one from FCPEuro. I've pretty much given up on the local dealer, they mostly seem interested in getting me into a new LR, rather than helping me keep my old LR going.
